SUN and MOON & LA SIESTE - 2025

I am delighted to introduce you to my latest series, ‘Sun and Moon’ and ‘La Sieste’; all about houses tucked into trees, the grace of the moon, blue skies, and the generous sun; spring pastels, warm autumn shades, vivid summer tones, and my beloved (sleeping) pets.

PROMENADE - 2024

Inspired by our year’s travels and walks on the hills of Italy and Transylvania, ‘Promenade’ is an invitation into the deep forests of blues and greens. A peaceful contemplation of the moon framed by majestic trees. My fondness for full pumpkin and fig leaves, the delicate branches of damsons, were also sources of inspiration.

WHERE WE BELONG - 2024

‘Where we belong’ is a painting series inspired by an imaginary place. A corner on earth where the trees, the moon and flower bushes are bathing us with fullness, generosity and calm. 8 paintings compose this collection. A series of 3 paintings with ‘La maison’, where one can imagine a hide-away within the secured beauty of majestic trees, 4 paintings with penseas and hydrangeas that I cherish, and ‘La lune’, the moon, guiding our nights in its full brightness.

LAST DAYS OF SUMMER - 2023

This limited collection of 4 oil paintings was inspired by the soft feeling of evening walks in the summer hills of Transylvania. Oil has been such a bliss to work with, a teacher of time, and a delight to harmonise with its requisites.

LE POTAGER - 2023

Inspired by the generous volume of a pumpkin, the abbundant layers of a cabbage, the soft beauty of a quince tree, the fullness of hydrangeas bushes...’Le potager’ series embodies my ever search for capturing the beauty of the mundane.

EASTERN MEMORIES - 2022

Inspired by our summer family trip to Eastern Europe, ‘Eastern memories’ is a series of 5 paintings. Transylvanian homeware and the hilly landscapes of Romania were the trigger for this limited collection.

S01. 2022

For this collection, beloved subjects such as generous pumpkin leaves, quinces, wild parsley, pansies, pyrenean landscapes and my collected linens were the focus.

For this series the focus was on colour and form through abstraction.  The collection also included the first figurative paintings.

 S02. 2020

Composition, colours and freeing the gesture through more abstract work were the focus for this collection of paintings. An exhalarating process which allowed to further the exploration of abstract work.

This was the very first series of paintings released by Johanna. Her pyrenean homeland, everyday life encounters and the arrival of spring in her grandmother’s garden were all source of inspiration and the landmarks for her works to come.
